Dear Valued Clients,

We hope this message finds you well. We want to keep you informed about a critical update that we've received from our data center provider. Regarding the potential impact of Hurricane Idalia on our operations.

Data Center Hurricane Preparedness:

They are closely monitoring the trajectory of Hurricane Idalia and its potential impact on the Tampa area where our TPA1 and TPA2 data centers are located. While current forecasts indicate that the hurricane is likely to make landfall north of Tampa, the data center is fully prepared to face any severe weather. They have comprehensive storm plans in place and have initiated their emergency action plan, which includes:

  • Ensuring a continuous supply of diesel fuel to power generators for an extended duration.
  • Maintaining a dedicated team on-site during the storm's activity.
  • Implementing safety measures to protect both personnel and equipment.

Facility Access Restriction:

To prioritize the safety of everyone involved, the data center team has made the decision to restrict physical access to the TPA1 and TPA2 facilities for colocation customers starting at 12:00 AM on Wednesday (PH time). This access restriction will remain in place until the inclement weather has subsided, which is anticipated to be on Thursday night or Friday (PH time). This precautionary measure is taken to ensure the well-being of all individuals on the premises.

Business Continuity:

Apart from the temporary access restriction to the TPA1 and TPA2 facilities, we want to assure you that Verahost intends to continue its regular operations over the next 48 hours. We remain committed to providing uninterrupted service during this time.

Data Backup Reminder:

In light of this situation, we encourage you to revisit your data backup strategy. If you haven't done so recently, we strongly recommend creating a current backup of your essential data. Regular backups are a crucial part of safeguarding your information.

Staying Informed:

We understand the importance of staying informed during such events. Rest assured, we actively monitor the situation and will keep you updated with any relevant developments. If you have any questions, concerns, or require assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.

Your trust in Verahost is greatly valued, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.
